There are alot of projects in progress, but not much completed as of yet.  I have nearly finished two desktop CNCs.  They are made of HDPE (that is cutting board plastic to most of us).  The router is a laminate trimmer from Harbor Freight, the stepper motors were surplus and purchased online for $3 a piece.  The controller was built from plans I purchase online.

I post a great deal of my projects on Instructables.  It is a great creative resource that keeps my mind turning.  Take a look!

Welcome to the home of Sleighbed.net.  This site has all the necessary information to successfully build a sleigh bed even if you’ve never worked with wood before.

How to Build a Sleigh Bed

Almost three years of evolutions, revolutions, failures and tears has helped me amass a plethora of information on curved panel sleigh beds.  I have collected and processed this information with the intention of helping amateur woodworkers or even dabblers build a beautiful bed.  This is a bed that can be easily built in a couple of weekends out of readily available materials on a limited budget.  The tools and parts needed to build this bed can be found in most well stocked tool boxes, or in most cases in your neighbor’s well stocked tool box.  With the information on this site, anyone can turn a pile of scrap lumber into a work of art.

You can see the curvature of the end rails in the picture below.  This website is meant to inform, educate, and to prevent users from making the mistakes I did.  I offer both the full scale plans and templates to help machine the rails, but no information is missing for the pages that follow.  I would be happy to post the results of anyone who builds a bed with this plan, with or without purchasing the plans or templates.  Since the project began as such a frustrating one, I do not have pictures of the early stages.  I will recreate a sample bed to show step by step how the pieces are machined and go together.  I hope you enjoy this project and am glad to answer any questions you might have.
